My Story: (about a year ago) I had taken my reel to get service at B&F Rod & Reel Service. She told me there always some issues with the shaft and she had to do all kinds of stuff but she cleaned it serviced it and put new drags and grease. I Took it a week later to my boat trip for casting irons I’m ready to go and long behold the drag would not tighten and if it did it was nothing. . I had the deck hand check it and buttoned it down to max and still no drag very light. I posted on Facebook if anyone knew of a repair man for reels for an old Shimano Torium 20. And I was referred to Mark Romero, Reel Advantage. Mark calls me after I messaged him gave him the run down and and like gave me the run down and what they might have done which was just maybe clean and re grease and oil and no repair. He told me to send it out a in a week because of the rod and reel show in Long Beach I believe it was. So I messaged him after and I sent it out to him. He received it on a Monday gave me a call to remind him of the issue her hung up a few days later it’s in the mail. I received my package today as I write this. And man I got to tell you ladies and gents he sent back the parts he replaced and some extra goodies. He told me he felt bad about my experience that I encountered and he had included some extra stuff. This man is awesome and I will be going to him for all my reel repairs and service. He was able to fix my reel and was able to have it working ten times better than original I bet lol. Mark thank you again your a blessing From God and your my go to guy from now on. Great customer service. Great knowledge, had a trip coming up. Remembered that, I needed to get my reel serviced. Gave him a call and lucky for me he was abel to fit me in Did it the same day. Reel super smooth now Thank you mark . Will be bringing my other reels for service soon. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the anatomy of a fishing reel and taught me how to properly use my reel. I came in with a defective abu Garcia reel and he upgraded some parts. Second review using my calcutta te dc after Mark put his magic into it.the reel is back to my dream reel again it works perfectly and with his advise I'm taking care of all my other gear too.hopefully we won't be needing to see Mark anymore but if that comes up reel advantage is the only stop to make for all repairs and tuneup.
