Operating outside the boundaries of the established tournament bass scene, technical swimbait anglers embrace a “culture of one” approach in their pursuit, focused on securing the largest fish in the system using one dedicated tactic to do it. This radical level of commitment warrants cutting-edge rod innovation to match.

Infused with Shimano’s most advanced blank materials and technologies, the Outlier series of technical swimbait rods offers anglers actions designed for maximum utility, durability and sensitivity on the water. To create a blank with ultimate compressional and torsional rigidity, engineers employed two top-tier Shimano manufacturing processes — Spiral X and Hi-Power X.

These processes prevent the blank from twisting and rolling, enhancing accuracy and control when casting big baits while providing increased power for battling large fish. Durable components like a custom carbon fiber-infused CI4+ reel seat and double-foot Fuji K-Frame guides with SiC inserts are built to withstand the strain of bulky, long-range bait deployment and retrieval.

Born to pursue Ultimate Lightness and exceed the expectations of even the most technical bass anglers, the fully redesigned Poison Adrena B series of casting and spinning rods combine a blend of premium Shimano rod technologies with application-specific actions. Shimano’s proprietary Spiral X Core technology powers Poison Adrena B, enhancing Shimano’s traditional Spiral X carbon tape construction by utilizing Toray Nanoalloy® technology to provide up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than rods built with standard Spiral X technology.

Combined with a redesigned Full Monocoque Handle and proprietary CI4+ reel seat, the Poison Adrena series provides unparalleled lightness and durability while delivering heightened sensitivity with increased transmission of lure action and bites.

Bridging the gap between an ultra comfortable, traditional full or split grip cork handled bass rod, like Shimano’s Expride B series, and the lightweight, ultra sensitive feel of a true JDM build, the Shimano Poison Glorious spinning lineup delivers a refined middle ground.

The series features eight technique driven spinning models, including options tailored specifically for jerkbait spin and two dedicated strolling models designed to handle the full range of strolling bait sizes with precision. Starting at the rear grip and into the reel seat, Shimano is debuting FusionGrip Technology to the U.S market, which features a thin cork grip spread onto a carbon monocoque grip, a hollow carbon structure that transmits vibration directly to the angler’s hand.

From there, a CI4+ reel seat is utilized for a lightweight reel to rod connection. The Poison Glorious rod blank is tuned for peak performance through the combination of Shimano’s Ultimate Blanks Design (UBD), Spiral X Core, and Hi-Power X.

The pinnacle of the Poison series, the Poison Ultima brings Shimano’s JDM offering to the North American market and generously showcases Shimano’s most advanced rod technologies. Shimano’s flagship Spiral X Core technology blends lightness and increased multi-directional strength while combining with Hi-Power X technology for added blank twist resistance.

High-performance and lightweight Shimano X-Guides draw out the full potential of Poison Ultima’s rod design for trouble-free and heightened casting performance. Casting models feature Shimano’s Full Carbon Monocoque grip that leverages a full-carbon design while delivering extreme sensitivity and showcasing a new handle shape developed by scientifically analyzing tournament anglers’ movement and holding posture to elevate performance.

Spinning models feature a Carbon Shell Grip — a lightweight, hollow structure — that enables anglers to determine even the slightest differences underwater as it transmits vibration through the hand. Built to be the pinnacle of performance, the evolution doesn’t stop for Poison Ultima
